I want to know if zoning out and getting paranoid is normal when you are on a high dose of weed?

Q.

Hi, I'm 14 years old. I want to know if zoning out and getting paranoid is normal when you are on a high dose of weed? Every time I get high I don't feel relaxed like people say you do, only when I smoke about two hits of really good weed and it's when I feel really relaxed.

Also, does weed make you hallucinate? I had a threesome with two of my friends and I would feel that I was moving extremely fast and then I started hearing voices and they wouldn't stop. I'm not worried, I'm just wondering.

The questions you ask are really good ones because they get to a point that's really important about any use of drugs: everyone experiences drugs differently (and that includes alcohol). What you're describing sounds like a pretty normal experience of weed; it makes a lot of people feel paranoid. But not everyone likes to feel that way and some people cope better with it than others. For some people, it means that they decide that maybe weed isn't right for them; that it causes them more stress than relaxation. It's OK to decide that maybe this drug isn't for you.

Experiencing hallucinations can be a sign that you've used more weed than your body can handle. Larger doses can make the usual effects of marijuana stronger, and can distort your perceptions (how you see the world) to the point that you might think you are seeing or hearing things that aren't really there. Again, if you are not comfortable with this (and many people aren't) it is OK if you cut down or stop smoking altogether.
